Michael Newkirk is a Media Production student at the University of Colorado Boulder with a minor in Anthropology. His work centers on documentary filmmaking and visual storytelling rooted in observation, atmosphere, and authenticity.Drawn to real people and real environments, he is interested in capturing moments as they unfold rather than staging them. Michael has gained hands-on experience in live sports media, wildlife film making,and event videography,but his primary focus remains documentary film as a way to explore place, character, and human/wildlife experiences.He is currently pursuing his FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification to expand his storytelling through aerial cinematography, and break into the world of drone video production.
